Our Story
Built around the work reporters already do
DIANA WANJIKU WAMBUI began as a set of conversations with reporters who needed a second pair of eyes, and has grown into a small, deliberate practice.
Where We Started
A practice built on second opinions
DIANA WANJIKU WAMBUI grew out of newsroom conversations along the coast, where reporters often worked alone on stories that deserved more structure than time allowed. What began as informal advice between colleagues turned into a standing practice.
We are not a training academy and we do not claim to teach journalism from first principles. Instead, we sit alongside reporters at specific, often difficult points in their process — before a story starts, before a hard interview, or when an outlet needs its standards written down.
What drives the work is a belief that good reporting benefits from a second, unhurried perspective — one that has no stake in how the story turns out.
Our Values
What guides how we work
01
Candour Over Comfort
If a story does not hold up, we say so early — that is more useful than encouragement alone.
02
Care With Sources
People who agree to be interviewed deserve thought given to their safety and comfort, not just their usefulness.
03
Standards Written Down
Good intentions fade under pressure; written standards hold when it matters most.
